THE KENT AND CANTERBURY HOSPITAL URGENT CARE CENTRE IS NOT AN A&E. If you are unsure whether to go to the Urgent Care Centre or A&E call 111. The Urgent Care Centre has a minor injuries unit and a GP-led service for minor illnesses. Babies (0-12 months) with injuries (e.g. suspected broken or dislocated shoulders, arms, legs, fingers or toes) cannot be treated at the UCC and must go to an alternative A&E. The UCC can see children requiring emergency care between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday. Outside these hours and at weekends children should be taken to an alternative A&E. Children in the Canterbury area with minor injuries (e.g. suspected broken arm) can be treated at the Urgent Care Centre at Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
